Last night, Monday the 17th, was the CrossfitNRG Christmas Party.  It was a potluck and white elephant gift affair.   Good people, good food, good time.  I am only sorry that I did not have the foresight to wield a camera.  The buffet was loaded with tasty, tasty food.  I especially enjoyed the Korean Barbeque Pork that was prepared and brought by Vanessa; those chopsticks didn’t slow me down one bit.  Another favorite was the ceviche; Chris was enthralled with it.  He couldn’t pronounce it but he could sure put it away.  We need that recipe.  Oh yes, the weather held; it was cold and rainy but did not snow.  I emphasize COLD.   So, it was a bit of a surprise to see a large tub of chocolate ice cream in the mix, brought by Cory who was digging in.  Who doesn’t like ice cream?

The white elephant gifts were fun.  They were selected in order of most recent member to the oldest member.  Why is it always like that?  James was the master of ceremonies and directed the program.  The favorite white elephant of the evening was selected by Bill who got a sexy Fruit of the Loom, lilac lace, 46DD bra.  Did not know those things existed!  Even funnier was when Ryoko put it on over her sweater.  She could have sat in it.

There were several young Crossfitters present.  I finally got to meet Matt Steadman’s son, Declan; 17 months and busy, busy, busy.  We got a show as James was lifting and tossing both AJ and Killian around.  Good thing they have strong stomachs and are fearless.  If there had been one more little one, James could have juggled!

It was nice to see everyone dressed up for the occasion and, better, to have time to chat with people who usually have time for a quick hello.

Just a quick reminder that there is a Kettlebell class every morning at 8am.  I am teaching the Monday and Wednesday morning classes.  Thank you to those of you who have been coming.  I really enjoy teaching you and watching the progress that is made.  Keep up the good work!
